There’s a truth that I have discovered about my wife and I --often these days, she’s coming and I’m going. She’s coming to get things together for our family, and with that same intensity I’m going to get things together for our family. When two things rub up against each other, in opposing directions, even with the same objective, it creates, well other than babies….it creates friction, lol. Sometimes in partnership it's hard to remember that we’re on the same team when fervor and intensity is present. At first, the friction was a distraction to my content, until I realized it was purposeful for my content. The theme for this year is “All Things”, they all work together for our good (Romans 8:28). So where do you pivot when there are disagreements in the home and you both feel validated in viewpoint? In addition to going to my best friend, we go to God.
Faith Confession 1: [My private moment to declare God’s goodness for the challenge]
God, please give me the revelation I need to remember that our warfare is not carnal but against principalities (2 Corinthians 10:4). Also Lord, give us the wisdom to sometimes recognize growing pains, which means it is not always the enemy, but sometimes it is you growing us. In Jesus name. Amen
After a few moments of quietness, I can feel the tug on my heart from God letting me know that we must return our fractured relationship back to its path. For it is He that brought together this union with the objective to bless others. We have a connecting flight to catch on the route to our destiny and we can not be late.
I think it is the same way when it comes to our gifts. I’ve been resilient with my writing. I mean, we break up sometimes, but we find our way back. How about you? Are there moments when you give up on your craft? Years? Lifetimes? Do you feel the tug in your heart? The unction trying to convince you to return to your love? Are you making excuses of how old you are now, or how busy you are? How you currently don’t have the finances it takes to get it going let alone complete it? Well I have good news for you! It's not up to you to make sure that you have what you need to do what God has told you to do-- it's up to you to solely be a willing participant. Time belongs to Him. Finances belong to Him. Let Him work out the logistics as you move forward with your open heart. This is easier said than done, especially at work in my Architect space. With experience comes a level of certainty that makes you want to take advice a lot less.
Faith Confession 2: [Because our days are filled with multiple challenges that have to be spoken to]
Lord remind me to be a willing partner, despite my certainties. Bless this writing to meet someone stuck in their craft, or in their relationship, and help them get unstuck, we’ve got work to do. In Jesus name. Amen.
Maybe next week I’ll write about my actual topic, unless God decides something different – again.
